"China learned to master the solar, battery and electric vehicle industries through the 2010s, while the United States was debating whether to pass clean-energy policy—and even whether climate change existed at all."
So who do we have to thank for that?

I wonder how long it's been since the last time PhatMax saw a weather report.
Weather forecasting has come a long way since the last time that PhatMax saw a weather report, judging by that remark.
That's my" take". Although I will say that the weather here in the San Jose area tends not to change as rapidly as it changes in many other areas across the nation and the world.
But that remark from PhatMax still strikes me as something of an anachronism.
I think it's safe to say that people tend to remember it more when their plans or expectations are upset because of weather that is not in line with what they anticipated, based on the weather forecasts... but when the weather forecasts turn out to have been accurate, not so much.
