That scene was shot on State route 105 just north of Krotz Springs.

I lived in the south, in the '60s and I am here to tell you that everything rayb thinks he knows is from a TV show.
As a mater of fact, I lived less than 300 miles from where that scene was shot, in the '50s and early '60s.
