Laws can only do so much (Page 5/6)

Just one more irritation on the road to snapping....

Did ya buffoons ever think that by enacting "I'm afraid safe-space" laws, ya just might be creating the very situation you are trying to prevent ? That wouldnt otherwise exist ?

Ordering a pissed-off individual to "calm down", is pretty much a guaranteeeeeddd way to wind them up even more.

People dont like being pushed around. People dont like being told how to speak or think. People dont like being told they cant defend themselves. People dont like being controlled on an individual level.

In fact, trying to do any of those is a pretty good way to "light the fuse". A good way to escalate things. Simple human psychology.

(pssstttt.....the current in-vouge term for it is "bullying", and forcefully taking a mans property simply because you think he MIGHT do something, or dont like his views, or the way he talk or walk, or doesnt clean up after his dog and tells you to FO and MYOB over it, sure as hell falls under that heading)

Are you talking about areas and facilities that are designated or legislated as "gun free" zones, or are you talking about something else?

'Gun Free" zones are simply a sign of leftist stupidity. #1, like a shooter gives a sheet about the signs and #2, like a gun is the only way to cause mayhem.

Rinse, shooters give about as much of a **** about 'gun-free-zones" and laws as I do about "free-speech-zones" and laws. Yeh, right. GFY.

I'm talking about the entire red-flag, safe-space, pre-crime, might-do-something set of laws existing in the 1st place as a concept.

Ya dont get to trample individual rights just because you are afraid of them or dont like them. THATS why they are called "rights" and not "privileges", and like I said. Trying to will most likely create the very thing you are trying to avoid.

You feel constrained or confined, like a caged animal. But this cage that you are trapped within in is not created by laws.

There's comfort in knowing how totally insignificant you are in the eyes of the world that surrounds you. Aside from the very few people that you actually affect, and are affected by in the most direct kinds of ways. The world at large doesn't even know you exist. It certainly doesn't concern itself with your thoughts or feelings or ideas or wishes.

The comfort is that the world around you can be equally insignificant in your eyes.

Look within.

Embrace your inner rando.

Red Flag laws violate the principle of "innocent until proven guilty". Period. End. Stop.

I am reminded of two Simon and Garfunkel songs from 1965.

Yep.

Likely that is why they exist.

The exact implementation of any particular red flag law could be debatable, but the concept itself... who's really against it?

They're like restraining orders that are common in cases of domestic violence and marital or marital-like breakups.
