MEM don't understand how a "red flag" law is written and enforced.

The measure allows law-enforcement officials to seek “risk-protection” orders from judges, who must consider a number of factors — such as recent acts of violence or threats of violence — before granting the requests. The orders can last up to 12 months, and officials are permitted to seek a single extension of up to another year.

Let's have an example. MEM"s closest neighbor has developed a new habit of standing on his front porch and shouting "I'm going to kill myself." Would (?) MEM say "Well, it's his right."

Or would MEM say "Wow. He's unstable. I want the police to know about this. I want the police to come out here, maybe with someone else who can advise them, and check on my neighbor. If he has guns, I think the police should confiscate his guns, at least temporarily, because even though he's talking about killing himself, he might change his mind and decide to try and kill me. He might be thinking about the old 'homicide suicide' combo. He might be thinking about 'suicide by cop', which he plans to set up by first trying to kill me. Or pointing a gun at me. I think they should 'red flag' this guy."

Or does MEM say "I'll just take care of this myself."

In this country, we have the right to confront our accusers in a court of law.

We are also presumed innocent until proven guilty by a jury of our peers.

Those two ideas protect a citizen of this country from losing their rights.
Those rights are not granted by our government, or Constitution; they are ours by birthright.
Our Constitution limits the power of government, not the rights of the he citizenry.

Both of those basic tenants of law are ignored in the red flag process.
As to your questions and suppositions about MEM's actions......I can barely wait to see his reply!

No, MEM would grab a case of Molson, a bucket of poutine and a lawn chair; and start pelting the guy with BB's.

I dunno. For a festive event like that, I'm thinking Red Cap Ale and red paintballs might be more appropriate.

The comfort is that the world around you can be equally insignificant in your eyes.

Look within.
