Hahah... well, if I had a theme song, it would probably be this one...
...or maybe this...
... but I'm more partial to the Smokey & The Bandit theme since I used to have a Smokey & The Bandit BMX bike in the 80s... black and gold Huffy, it was awesome...

I just found it amusing (and a little creepy) that someone called you Mary Lou in another thread.
But I really like that song. Years ago, I almost married a girl named Mary Lou and she hated that song.
I also like the band and Buddy Cage is one of my favorite steel players. He passed two years ago.
His guitar is a custom built Emmons D-12. A rare instrument.

Hahah... well, as they say... "sticks and stones!"
I was just having a conversation with my buddies earlier today, regarding this:
"Time is a flat circle. We are in the 1970s again. Geopolitical tensions with Russia. Stagflation. High oil prices. The music is just shittier this time around."
To which I said... "is the music shittier?"
The truth is, I kind of stopped keeping up with music after the early 2000s. Last "band" I think I actively followed was Lincoln Park, Disturbed, etc. But other than "dub step" being a thing (which is now like over a decade old), I can't even tell you a single song that's come out in the past 15 years.
Lots of good music back in the day... but even the stuff I grew up with, like Nirvana. I listen to those lyrics now and I realize he was just stoned and none of it made sense. When I was 13-14, I used to think things like:
"One baby to another says I'm lucky to have met you..." was super, super deep. Now I just realize he was stoned, haha.
But yeah... good stuff.
My wife's name is Erica, and I always tell her... "You can't spell America without Erica," she just goes... "ok Todd."

The '70s wasn't all "Muskrat Love" and "Shake Your Booty". There were bands like The New Riders, Commander Cody and Asleep at the Wheel. There was also Hot Tuna and Little Feat.
And of course, Sheik Yerbouti.
Just like now, if you turn on the radio, all you are going to hear is Adelle or Florida Georgia Line, but there is a lot of good stuff happening just below the surface. I try to post music that will take people out of their bubble. I don't expect everyone to like everything I post, but every now and then, I figure someone will be intrigued enough to explore further. I have seen it happen here.
I learned to appreciate Metallica and Les Claypool because of posts from others on this forum.[This message has been edited by williegoat (edited 02-21-2022).]

Willie, aren't you just using someone else's discussion as an excuse to snipe at me because I see all the propaganda as it truly is? I know the answer.

I didn't care much for New Rider's treatment of School Days compared to Chuck Berry's version. Mostly, the vocals and tempo.
From that late 70s-early 80s I would choose John Cafferty. (I was pretty much 'out of pocket' during the 70s)
