Pretty smart fellow. Reading a news transcript at just the right time on the right day. I guess there's no chance the man who benefited the most from the cancellation of the oil pipeline had an inside track as to the democratic party's scheme to create shortages and higher prices. I wonder how many members of our current in charge political party happened to see the same new on the same day and just happened to acquire a few shares.
Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway invested $4.5 billion into Occidental Petroleum in five days. The investor pounced after reading a transcript of Occidental's latest earnings call, he told CNBC. Berkshire snapped up 91.2 million shares, securing a stake worth more than $5 billion today. Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway plowed $4.5 billion into Occidental Petroleum in five days, securing 91.2 million shares worth upward of $5 billion today.

I think the Yahoo! News report adds more context, if that's the question. About this investment in Occidental Petroleum by Warren Buffett. It fills out the picture with some specifics that were not provided in the Original Post.
Or am I misunderstanding the question?

Man, he is so dumb...
I bought Occidental Petroleum, Haliburton, Schlumberger, Diamondback Energy, and the USO ETF when Putin started putting troops on the border last March.
Everything is up anywhere from 45-100% since then... oil stocks. But they mostly lagged for much of the year, despite increasing oil prices, which I thought was weird.
Took this war for me to make money though... stupid Dems... it's almost like they wanted this to happen. I mean, it's not like they didn't see it coming in March when Putin first started putting troops on the border.
And so many Republicans and Democrats ate up the disinformation campaigns by the IRA... "it's just an exercise..." or my favorite, "Putin is worried that NATO is going to attack."
