Thanks for sharing. I appreciate his honesty. I'll be honest with my thoughts.
He states out right off the bat that god is "consciousness", and "self". I just don't get that. Right away it is total conflict with itself. I understand his questions, but feel, like a lot of people do that he decided to settle. Made it more about feelings and meditation, and self. "A way to be in touch with who I really am" he said. He wantsa to feel "being connected". "Spirit of finding space"
The school he plugged, what they say:
"Philosophy Works draws from the timeless wisdom of great philosophers to help you find peace, purpose, and happiness in your everyday life. Our lively 10-week introductory course is interactive and practical, so you discover real-world solutions to some of life’s challenges. It provides tools and techniques for experiencing greater happiness and feeling more present and connected to those around you.
The School of Practical Philosophy offers a journey of self-discovery that guides students towards understanding their own innate wisdom and an appreciation of the underlying unity connecting us all."
Yes sure everyone wants to feel better, completely understandable. He later talks about how to accept pain in life, which is also something used as a way to cope with life. Yes everyone would like help with that. It is about perspective, they teach you perspective.
To me these things are experiences, how to improve them and cope with them now. These aren't entirely related to the over arching truths. In the end he points out issues with "organized religion", to me this is too much of an easy target, I think when people focus on human failings within groups of people who believe some over arching truths, they don't understand that that is what the "organized" religion is. People trying to be organized. One needs to peel away the organizing and see what is beneath and inside.
After asked what happens after you die, I thought he would get more to some depth, but he focused on accepting it, the experience, I like that he mentioned the soul going on. Though he didn't get specific. Many people can't because it might upset someone, it doesnt "find space".
When he said about God : "separate from time matter and space", that works though.
What I think about this is all really is that he is learning and being taught that "it will be ok" just "look at it a certain way". Which if there were no over arching truth or consequences, wouldn't be a problem. One would have to ask themselves that question, realizing that it is easier to believe that there isnt an over arching truth or consequences.

Sounds like "secular humanism" to me, judging from what "2.5" just said. I have not looked at the Hugh Jackman video.
"Prove me wrong."
