What happens to the threads that get "0" replies? Does the person with the most get a prize? Is it a call for attention that everyone ignores? Bait that no fish will take because it smells bad. Just a thought.

I'm replying just so I keep my count and win that prize !

Several threads have been started that really don't warrant a reply.

There are topics which I find interesting, but either I have nothing to say or someone else has already said it.

What I find annoying is when someone feels compelled to "correct" or embellish the replies of others. Someone could say, "The sky is blue" and another member will reply, "Well, that's not really accurate. The color is more azure and furthermore, it is not the sky but sunlight filtered through the atmosphere. OK, we get it you read a book, but everyone else already understands that the sky is blue.

Who does that? Is there a particularly annoying example that sticks in your mind, that you could recount, or even copy and paste, from the annals of this forum?

This doesn't ring a bell for me. It doesn't call any instances to (my) mind.

Maybe I'm a habitual culprit, in "williegoat's" eyes?
rinselberg APR 24, 04:15 PM
I guess I might be able to think of some likely "suspects".

I hope I am not one. I hope I have not been a repeat offender.

Or the thread with zero replies that gets bumped by the person who started the thread. Even better when it's bumped multiple times by that same person.
olejoedad APR 24, 06:42 PM
Who would do that?

Nothing really screams desperation, narcissism and attention whoring as loudly as that does.

I say it's legit if the bumps are accomplished by adding additional content that passes muster as additional content. That's what I was doing on pages 1 and 2 in the "Are Russian nukes as decrepit as their conventional weapons?" Although that wasn't a thread that I started, and there were already some replies from other forum members.

What's your "beef" here?

How does that detract from your enjoyment or satisfaction with the forum? You may (or may not) remember the "Wall of dennis_6", which led to a forum member being banned. You may (or may not) remember another forum member, not active at any recent time, who started like a dozen new threads all in the space of just a few hours. But you can't (fairly) say that I've filled up the forum to that extent.
