Just the next manufactured crisis.....

I suspect it will affect other countries more than it will affect the North American continent.

Wasn't globalization a great idea?

Sounds logical that it would affect other countries more. I would suspect resulting in refugees, and wars.
Exactly, globalization and local areas / individuals not being able to support themselves is the key to the easily reached failure of it all.
The US also has some of its own shortages upcoming.

Is anyone stockpiling? Upping their "preppers" game?

Not me. As many (I think) would surmise. I don't see myself getting to the other side of this and being a survivor.

Doesn't the government pay farms not to plant crops?
Isnt it just odd that we pay farms not to produce, by fruit that is shipped across the globe to process then ship it back?
Time to make an independent US, I have no issues working with other countries but we should be able to sustain ourselves.

When I was much younger, America was referred to as "The Breadbasket of the World".

I completely agree, this is getting ridiculous. What's more... so much of this is done through Congress, or even at the agency level, that even the president isn't aware.

I get your point, but I don't think the president is even aware of his own ass, half the time.

I agree... but I guess I was referring to in general. A lot of the stuff that's been going on, was being done under the Trump administration. Things that he absolutely would have been against, like the funding of viral testing in other countries. This is something Trump absolutely would have put a stop to, but he had literally no idea about it. I'm sure that Obama didn't know either. I suspect it really had more to do with collaboration with foreign governments at the agency-level, without explicit direction of the president.

The legislature makes laws... but the agencies are under the command of the President, as he is literally the "President" / CEO of these organizations. But they're doing things without permission, and the series of checks and balances (OGC and IG) are not really doing the job they should be doing... which I hate to suspect may be intentional.
