We've been lied to so often, we're now used to it. Wiki has already changed the definition to fit the current administration definition (which I still don't get). I'm waiting on Webster to re-define it.
They think spending more money will fix the current inflation issue, they believe taxing corporations will help pay for their overspending driving that inflation like those costs won't be passed on to consumers. Mid-Terms are coming, if one votes for those who want to buy votes with free stuff, then you deserve what you get but, the rest of us don't. Yeah, I'm pissed. ------------------ Rams
Isn't it strange that after a bombing, everyone blames the bomber, his upbringing, his environment, his culture, his mental state but … after a shooting, the problem is the gun.........

Quoted for truth, because it needs to be said again.

I know it gets said a lot, but it's like they read 1984 and got ideas from it.
I suspect that most people aren't paying that much attention. They just read the headlines, and those don't really matter either.
An unrelated rant follows. To be honest I'm kinda starting to not care. None of it matters. They will simply fix the elections so they win every time and we will continue to do nothing about it. Anyone that stands up and says anything is made out to be horrible (see: Proud Boys, Alex Jones, Trump, etc.)
I said a long time ago that I figured they already won and kinda gave up the fight, mainly because it's more important to feed my family than sit in a prison for some made-up crime. Anything you do ends up with them making up things to attack you with.
I came back when Trump ran. At first, I wanted him to burn the entire thing down. But almost from the start he was actually doing great things and making real changes. I had some hope that things would get better again.
They won't get better though. Just stock up on food and ammo. Go to work and try not to end up in a reeducation camp. Those of us that pay some attention know how this plays out. Click to show[This message has been edited by Fats (edited 08-03-2022).]

Since the 1930s American Leftists, including the current mis-administration, have been married to the whackjob economic theories of a British socialist economist John Maynard Keynes.
"Keynesian economists justify government intervention through public policies that aim to achieve full employment and price stability."
Four years of a very successful "Trump economy", hallmarked by the removal of government intervention and regulation in the free market proved the Left's slavish devotion to Keynesian economics wrong, but like all of their other bad ideas, Leftists insist on returning to them despite continued failure.
Leftists gotta Leftist ...because they're slow learners[This message has been edited by randye (edited 08-03-2022).]

When you have the left actively changing the narrative of what a recession is, changing the Wikipedia entries for 'recession' and weaponizing the words for political purposes, gaslighting the American public and press, and this doesn't stop or has begun with recession. Science, Sex, Math, and a whole host of what has been proven to be absolute facts are being changed by the left for political purposes.
This is a significant loss to humanity and to our society. It is a step back to dark ages and tribalism that we have been progressing out of for quite awhile, only to be go several steps backwards by the left.
When we as a society cannot agree what the facts are, because it doesn't suit you politically, and you use the force of your political power to change it, then we have lost any coherence to be functional.
For this example of 'recession', although we can debate what is a better matrix, but the standard definition as it exist today that is agreed upon and easy to understand by everyone, and USED BY EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, but the left in American wants to change it. The ONLY reason why the left is trying to change the facts is because of mid-term elections, and only reason. They think it looks bad for team blue and Biden. And so they say that a recession is when we say it is a recession by some arbitrary panel of economist under broad subjectivity, who we don't who they are and are captured to game the data, then it will be nothing more than a political propaganda tool. What is wrong with 2 quarters or more of negative GDP growth? SIMPLE!
When we cannot agree to a standard definition, and if those definitions can be changed by political factions (Orwellian), if spokepeople and politicians along with their lapdogs in the media can say facts are lies and lies are facts (Covid, Recession, Sex, Science, Math and on and on) then we live under a totalitarian government state that deserves to be ousted as it is unprogressive and detrimental to a democracy.

Math?
People are divided about pedagogy when it comes to math education. That's different ideas about how to implement the process of educating students about math.
But who can post a credible example of anyone trying to undermine any of the actual, commonly accepted tenets of math? An example of anyone asserting (to resort to the obvious cliche) that Two Plus Two doesn't equal Four?
