A four hour shift and he made a whopping $30.97. Maybe he should get a real job instead of complaining about a job that should be supplemental instead of primary.

He has a real job:

The driver told Insider he usually works in a tutoring center, but decided to pick up some Uber Eats shifts in east Texas while he was off work for a couple of weeks.

This was intended to be supplementary. But if "supplementary" jobs don't pay anything, why work them, either? I'm all for letting the Free Market work it out, but the market is saying "I ain't working for free."

You're going to have to pick up your take out yourself.

Not only jobs that don't pay, but you work all hours of the night and nowadays get robbed or shot. Not worth it.

Funny thing is, I did dial-a-bottle on the side in the 90's and early 2000's and a 4-hour on a Friday or Saturday was worth 125-150 clear on average easy. Holidays and long weekends were just insane. Not unusual to clear $1,000 over xmas eve, xmas and boxing day if you are willing to stockpile a carload or 2 in advance. (No that's not illegal. I gave away the beer for free, you were just paying out the ass for my time to get it to you. It's only bootlegging if I charge for the beer itself).
