They went and quietly re-instated the $2500 fine for posts they dont approve of.

And if you are thinking of switching to Venmo, forget it. Woke-Pal owns that too.
Hey !!! PAY-PAL....
Only men can get pregnant.
White Lives matter.
Guns are harmless and dont do anything on their own.
There are 2 genders.
It's OK to be white.
The vax is killing people.
And, finally......
GO **** YOURSELVES ![This message has been edited by MidEngineManiac (edited 10-27-2022).]

I would immediately remove my account, except that I've already done it... so I can't do it again. :/

Jokes on them....I never did link a bank account or anything besides one-time-use pre-paid visa (all I use online), so they can wrack up all the fines they want.
Collecting them might be a different matter, though.
There is no climate crisis. !!

They make it so convenient, for whenever I purchase something from 3rd party sites that I don't want to give my card to. Just seems safer. I just purchased some Fiero related stuff via Paypal just recently.
But this Woke $hit is nonsense and I believe illegal. yeah, sure they can pull some grey area out of the terms, but this is still theft.
I really want to know more about this and not political hype around it, because I would hate to not use them, but for my money's safety? No one should be punished or fined for political views from a private business. So I want to make sure that this is not being blown up out of control that what it really is.
I really don't understand why they would do this as they are loosing users in mass because of this, because it isn't a smart business decision. If they are so woke they want to go broke, WOW! That is sad.
A company that was founded by Thiel, Musk and the rest of the Paypal mafia to be captured like this? Crazy.

It isnt about wokeism or political views anymore.
It's about power, and control.
They want so much of it, they can tell you what to think, what to eat, when to breathe and what to wipe your azz with after a **** .
You are their slave and property. They rule you.
Actually, that's what this P-C crap has always been about.[This message has been edited by MidEngineManiac (edited 10-27-2022).]

By the way, I looked into it... it's fake news.
TO be clear... everything that happened 3 weeks ago, with the tweet from the former president, Elon Musk, and the original "accidentally" posted AUP that was dated November 3rd, 2022... that was all real.
But everything "TODAY" ... it's all fake... likely part of a propaganda campaign. I did a search, and other than Todd Starnes (who references fake sites), all of the sites promoting this are fake pro-Republican sites.
There is a $2,500 fine for misinformation, but it applies specifically to misrepresenting a product that you're trying to sell. This has always been there, and it is in STARK contrast to the AUP that we were all losing our mind over that OTHERWISE said...
quote | "...involve the sending, posting or publication of any messages, content or materials that, in PayPal’s sole discretion, (a) are harmful, obscene, harassing or objectionable, (b) depict or appear to depict nudity, sexual or other intimate activities, (c) depict or promote illegal drug use, (d) depict or promote violence, criminal activity, cruelty or self-harm (e) depict, promote or incite hatred or discrimination of protected groups or of individuals or groups based on protected characteristics (e.g. race, religion, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation etc.) (f) presents a risk to consumer safety or (financial) wellbeing, (g) are fraudulent, promote misinformation or are unlawful, (h) infringes the intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights of any party or (i) are otherwise unfit for publication." |

That isn't in the "current" policy... so we've been kind of fooled by a disinformation campaign.
That said, I have no tears for PayPal, because the original drama from 3 weeks ago was still legitimate, and they deserve all the hate they can get from it.

Same sheet....Use pay-pal to buy or sell a confederate flag ? Donate to an "unapproved" cause or candidate? gun/weapons parts ? ect, ect, ect...
All they did was refine it so instead of applying across the entire internets (which they got shat on for) to only apply to anything involving pay-pal.
Still fining for refusing wokeism.

I practice financial security that is as strict as TS/SCI
Allowing 3rd party payment services unfettered access to your personal finances is equivalent to thinking that licking public urinals is safe.

I, for one, have no desire to use PayPal, or any of the other digital money transfer sites.
Back in the day, identity theft was unheard of...

Identity theft was rampant back then too. Credit cards identity theft, fake checks, social security identity theft just to name a few. They have been rampant for many decades.
Even the first credit card (Master Card forebears) went bankrupt back in the 60's because of this.
We live in a cess pool of bad people, unfortunately.
