You should.
If I started a sentence with "These are the so-called 'lake effect' snowstorms that are common near the Great Lakes, but there's no contradiction here with what so many climate scientists have been saying about greenhouse gas emissions and global warming..." how many more more words, sentences, paragraphs, data plots and other images, YouTube videos and cross-links to other forum threads or online articles would you expect?

Have they blamed it on Climate Change and white colonial patriarchy yet?

Havent heard on the colonialism thing yet, but probably.
What I am hearing, is somehow magically, all that water that came out of lake Erie as 6 feet of snow is going to turn into 12 feet or so of water when it goes back into the lake in a few months and the lake is going to get deeper and we are all gonna DRRROOOOWWWWWWNNNNNN.....
I dunno, hasn't happened in my 5 decades around the lakes, but ya never know what this warming-expansion is gonno do.
but apparently, throwing money at leftist special interests will stop it somehow. The science on that one is above my pay grade.

quote | Lake-effect snow does not need a large-scale low-pressure system to develop. All it takes is for bitterly cold air to interact with comparatively warm water. When the wind direction aligns with the shape of the Great Lakes, it can generate smaller-scale snow events that can unload feet of powder over a small area. The localized nature of lake-effect snow means that a few miles could be the difference between accumulations of a few inches and a few feet. |

That's from the link that was posted. They're calling this a "lake effect" snowstorm.
The heat energy of the water in the Great Lakes is part of this, as is the cold air from the Arctic that has moved south over eastern Canada and the northeastern United States in connection with a southwards meandering of the Jet Stream.

Wrong ?
For once you got it right.
Lake Effect squalls are a yearly thing and have been since the great lakes existed.
Nothings changed.

It's a tag line I sometimes use. "Prove me wrong". I do it to make (mild) fun of "olejoedad", who has often closed one of his posts with that line.

It must be true, that comedian that played a scientist on TV for kids said so.
