...and we were all young and impressionable.
Some were enticed to the ‘60s counterculture by the “sex, drugs and rock n’ roll”. Others hoped that the political posturing might save their skin.
They pointed to ideas which they did not understand and proclaimed their lofty virtue. But much like the modern day environmental movement, the reality was that their motives were completely self serving.
Now, they are all tools of the establishment. Imagine that.

Hey "williegoat", do you save the images that you post on this forum?
I remember, quite some time ago, there was a remark by MidEngineManiac, and I posted an image of a large statue of the Buddha, and then you posted a photo image of a younger man, obviously from the 60's counterculture, puffing on a joint and flashing the "Peace" sign with his fingers, if memory serves me. It was a GIF animation.
I'd like to see that one again. It would fit in perfectly, right here.
It's often my habit to save images that other forum members post, but I let that one go, and then later, I tried to find my way back to that thread but I couldn't find it again.
I tried to find it online with Google, just using general search parameters, but it didn't turn up for me. Not surprising, considering how many such images of that kind are online.[This message has been edited by rinselberg (edited 12-03-2022).]

That's close, but I don't think that was the one.
Thanks, nevertheless.

Tune in Turn on Drop out Go extinct
There are some that influence us in a good way and others that would like nothing else than to mislead us. But most of them just want to sell you something while they live a life you would never approve of.
There are those that are unable to cope with their own existence and do everything they can to avoid it. Blaming everyone else for their troubles and looking for a parent figure to make it all better. Some choose drugs, some join a "group", some end up on the streets while others look for the government to maintain their life. These are the people that are easily taken down a path they neither understand or can get off once they are on it.
Nothing is free, you don't contribute to your own well being then you are the one that should face those consequences. If you are happy in your little bubble then fair enough just be sure you can maintain that bubble and stay out of mine.
When you see someone else doing well and want what they have without having a clue how they got it. You are the problem.
End of the day we all end up in the same place, for some they will finally get their wish and not have to cope anymore. For others they will leave a legacy that for good or evil it will shape generations. I have no ideas of grandeur and at the end of my time plan on fading away from these mortal realms. Perhaps there will be something else or perhaps it will all just end.
Perhaps you are all just NPCs in my grand adventure and my big titty goth girl will make me stop playing one day to make me take out the garbage and you will all just be 1s and 0s in a safe file. Perhaps not...
