“The next thing I hear was, ‘code blue, code blue in the X-ray’ in the PA system and from then on pretty quick that room was full of people,” he said. He was asked to leave the room, and was later told medical staff had to resuscitate Allison three times. |

Anyone ever have appendicitis? Sounds like it. You ever have a John Wick moment this would be the one.

Short staffing.
Thank the vax mandates. The hospitals spent 2 years firing people who refused the vax, and now that they desperately need those skills back, guess what ?
All those people have gone to work as PSW's or home-care nurses (or moved to elsewhere) and are saying eff you.
ER waiting rooms here are triaged by severity, or perceived severity, of the problem. Belly-Ache isnt very high on the list.
Try to get a family doc here ? 3 year wait minimum. I've heard of people being on the list for 5-6-7.[This message has been edited by MidEngineManiac (edited 01-10-2023).]

There is one trick that still work here, I believe: only go to the ER via an ambulance, never as a walk in. They get higher priority. My sister the Dispatcher told me this some time ago.
