Does anyone anticipate any surprises? I expect it to be a snoozer.

SOTU Sotomayor? SOTU Brutus?

I'm getting ready to sleep through it.

Anyone went to guess the ratings numbers?

None of my Democrat friends have any intention of watching it... I might watch it... but I expect for him to basically attack Republicans as racist and radical... and then somehow say he's trying to unite the country.

I am surprised at y'all.

I didn't much like Obama, but I listened to every word he said, if I could. We need to know where the enemy thinks he stands. We need to understand his mindset, per se. We can't use his words against him, if we don't hear them. Do we want to rely on media to tell us what he told the Nation ?

China is spying on us with Tik Tok.

I am planning on watching, if I can keep my eyes open.

Obama always put me to sleep. He could talk for an hour and not say a GD thing.

Biden will mumble a bunch of BS that we have heard before. He will tell us what a great job he is doing and how we need to just do what we are told.

I'm hoping that Kevin McCarthy will "one up" Pelosi and tie a copy of Dementia Joe's speech to a white helium balloon and let it float off into the House chamber on camera.

Well, that was interesting. At times hilarious, .
It will take me some time to internalize.

That beats my idea. I was fantasizing that Kevin made paper airplanes from each page and was throwing them at dumbocrats, through out the "address".

Nothing new.

He wants government (that's you and me) to pay for daycare and keep kids in school for 14 years. That is to say, government indoctrination from cradle to adulthood, no parental responsibility.

He wants the federal government to control wages and prices, promising that the "rich" will foot the bill.

He wants to ban guns (he described a pistol as an assault weapon) and mandate union membership. He believes that burger flippers are bound by non-compete contracts.

He wants police to go to reeducation.

Just about 10 days ago I posted a thread about a CNN reporter who "spanked" Joe Biden over some false and misleading claims from Biden about the nation's economy.

"Biden in the crosshairs. Journo, well known for debunking Trump, takes aim at Biden."
https://www.fiero.nl/forum/...m12/HTML/000573.html

Two other CNN reporters have published an annotated and Fact Checked transcript of the President's SOTU. I will provide the article itself, first:

"Biden's State of the Union address, annotated and fact-checked"
Zachary B. Wolf and Curt Merrill for CNN; February 8, 2023.
https://www.cnn.com/interac...resident-biden-sotu/

There are more annotations than Fact Checks.

I think they are saying that Biden was mostly factual, and only strayed from the facts on a smaller number of occasions in the speech.

It's easy to scroll through and just zero in on the distinctive visual format of the Fact Checks.

You don't have to scroll down very far to find the first Fact Check. Once you've seen that, you have familiarized yourself with the distinctive visual format or "optical signature" of each of the subsequent Fact Checks, so you can program your mind to look for it as you rapidly scroll through the remainder of the transcript.

As you encounter each Fact Check, you will see the words "Facts First", in enlarged and bolded text, and puncuated with a white checkmark symbol or "✓" that stands out against a red background. Both the fact checks and the more numerous annotations are indented, relative to the speech itself, and are set off with a pale gray background that distinguishes this text from the text of the speech itself.

An annotation is delineated with a yellow vertical bar, whereas a Fact Check has a blue vertical bar.

"Scroll with confidence."
