The kids are on the spectrum of idiocy. Plotting a toy bomb. Apparently, none of the detectives summed the Legos and explosives, concluding ' Just kids having fun. ' The watermelon targets first used in the movie ' Day of the Jackal ' '73. After six months of heavy interrogation, they would reveal their political controllers and the intended targets. The toys the bait. This has been done before, nefarious deeds by paramilitary insurgents, many times. The question I have is, why hasn't a database of bombings been collated and made available to LE ? They can't possibly be that naive because they are in Tulsa, not that far from Oklahoma City. When she gets out, she'll likely start stripping or selling to make some coin, move some dope. Real interested in making further inquiries, get a real close look at that before she moves on to Berkeley and foreign marxist organizations. Interpol watch list, years of surveillance, intercepting comms, contacts... blah, blah, blah. Pretend that you were in intelligence, and had a lead.
She was texting when she was stopped, have the comms been subpoenaed ? Or, did they just let that slide ?

"After police took an X-ray of the device, it showed that Zane used fireworks, fishhooks, metal screws and rivets."
Somehow, I don't think that fishhooks, metal screws and rivets are required to blow up a "watermelon". The fireworks alone could've done that by themselves.
The cops need to keep an eye on those two "kids". I suspect that anyone who's that calm while being detained and questioned by the police, is either drugged (like maybe Xanax?) or suffering from some sort of mental disorder.[This message has been edited by Patrick (edited 04-21-2023).]

I feel positive that you have heard of shrapnel.

Yes... and I feel equally positive you have heard of watermelon.
Are you suggesting that shrapnel is required for an explosive device to blow up a watermelon?
