This day in 1944 was the first day of the end of the Third Reich.
Very few are still alive that were there, but their efforts and determination changed the world.
Remember the heroes of our collective past, and their sacrifices made for the rest of us.

Many men have since then. That day was special. In a war, our soldiers risk their lives acknowledging they might die. D Day, they expected it.
Our local morning disk jockey gave his "this day in history" spiel . He missed D Day and was called out.
