I like that cap. The Maltese Cross emblem on the vest of his jacket gives him a jaunty looking outfit. He speaks well. He's easy to understand.
Does anyone have his name? Does anyone have the text of any of the online commentary that these investigators came to warn him about?
Whatever it was he said to the investigators that's recorded on this 13 minutes of video, I would want to see some of his actual online commentary before offering any kind of judgement about this.[This message has been edited by rinselberg (edited 08-13-2023).]

Utah? All I can think of is the Mormons. And wintertime snow and skiing. And Mitt Romney.
Is my bafflement because I didn't peruse any of that 13-minutes of video, except for the first few moments when I saw the guy?[This message has been edited by rinselberg (edited 08-13-2023).]

It's one thing to take threats seriously... but it's a whole other thing for the Government to respond in such a way that it creates more problems... like shooting and killing this guy. Media doesn't really talk about this, but this does NOT build support for the cradle to grave Government mentality that Democrats so desperately want.
They obviously know where he lives. Can they not send a letter, something like...
"We recognize your right to free speech, and the right to express your opinion; however, physical threats of violence to any individual are taken seriously. If these threats get worse or (whatever), you will be charged with (blah blah...)."
Much cheaper, easier... and no one has to load up their gear and move out to a location.
Half the problem with most of these FBI raids is that it's about promotions. You cannot get promoted when you're sitting on your ass, and these things don't happen as often as the movies make them seem... so when you have like 40 people breaking down the door to Trump's lawyers... part of it is political, yes... but more than half the people there just want that "big event" on their Employee Performance Review so they can get that next GG grade or Pay Band increase. It's really quite lame... seriously... but that's half the reason why this stuff happens.
It's also why when some douchebag from ... wherever... is having a press conference, and you always see like 10 people standing behind him/her. Even though none of those people end up speaking... why the hell are they up there? It's not just that they want to be on TV... but they want to be able to say they were "there" for their employee performance reviews.

I suggest scrolling through this report from the Salt Lake Tribune to examine whether the idea of sending the late Craig Deleeuw Robertson a warning letter would have been more appropriate than having the FBI directly confront him about the material that he had posted online.
But I think even the more summary report that MidEngineManiac posted (from NPR) provides reason enough to justify the FBI seeking a "face to face" with the man.
I've never heard of "just a warning letter" in what I've read in news reports about these cases. That strikes me as insufficient.

We have been reading about this incident since the day it happened. You were unaware of it until just a few hours ago. How is it that you think you could suggest facts that might change our minds?

I don't want to believe that our government is not worthy of trust, but there is a mounting body of evidence that cannot be ignored.

I was aware of the Utah incident. I just didn't make the connection when you hinted at it, in relation to what happened in Canada, where "Dudley Do-Right" came to the front door to confront "dapperly dressed man" about the online postings about Prime Minister Trudeau.[This message has been edited by rinselberg (edited 08-13-2023).]
