Dominic Pezzola smashing Capitol window.
‘F*cking Idiot’ Proud Boy Does a 180 After Judge Shows Little Mercy
quote | An emotional Dominic Pezzola insisted he was full of regret on Friday. After he was sent to the slammer for 10 years, he changed his tune.
A member of the Proud Boys who smashed a Capitol window with a stolen police shield to let in a mob of rioters on Jan. 6 tearfully begged for mercy before he was sentenced on Friday—only to turn around and yell “Trump won!” after a judge sent him to the slammer for 10 years.
Dominic Pezzola, who VICE first identified by his nickname “Spazzo,” was convicted in May of assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers, and robbery involving government property alongside four other Proud Boy co-defendants. His smashing of the Capitol window was one of the first breaches of the building and allowed hordes of wild MAGA fanatics to storm the building.
“You opened up the Capitol like a can opener,” U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly said Friday, adding that the tradition of peacefully transferring power was “among the most precious things we had as Americans” before Jan. 6.
His sentence was half of what prosecutors originally sought and was lesser than those of two co-defendants, Joseph Biggs and Zachary Rehl, who were recently handed 17 and 15 years behind bars, respectively. Pezzola was acquitted of a seditious conspiracy charge, unlike his fellow Proud Boys, but prosecutors described him as the “literal poster boy” for the group’s conspiracy.
During an emotional plea to Kelly on Friday, Pezzola insisted he was “a changed and humbled man” and said he stood before the court “with a heart full of regret.”
“This was the worst, most regrettable decision of my life. I fully realize the gravity of my actions,” he said.
Pezzola reportedly wiped his eyes as his wife and mom tearfully addressed the court. Lisa Magee told the court that she had struggled to find employment because of her husband’s actions, and her daughters had been subjected to bullying and harassment. “I truly believe if he could change the course of that day, he would,” she said.
Even with Magee’s beg for mercy, she was far from making an excuse for Pezzola’s behavior.
“As I said on the stand, he’s a ****ing idiot,” she said, according to a tweet from Politico reporter Kyle Cheney.
But even after a tearful plea and claiming he accepted full responsibility, Pezzola reportedly smiled, raised his fist in the air and shouted “Trump won!” as he exited the courtroom.

Guy got what he deserved.
Wasn't there some clown a couple of years ago here posting... "no charges... no convictions" over and over again? Haven't heard that for awhile.
Looks like This thread didn't age too well.[This message has been edited by Patrick (edited 09-01-2023).]

The goalpost will always change. You can watch it happen by rereading this thread.
First, he claimed no charges. A few of us rightfully knew these things just take awhile.
Then it was that there were just a few charges, and they were all small.
Then it was that there were some big charges, but it wasn’t really that many people.
Then it was that there were a lot of folks charged with crimes, but it wasn’t a large percentage of the whole.
Then it was that there were even more charged, but not any convictions.
Then it was that there were a few guilty pleas, but no convictions otherwise.
Then he strangely stopped commenting updates.
I wonder why.

U.S. Attorneys » District of Columbia 31 Months Since the Jan. 6 Attack on the Capitol
Sunday, August 6, 2023, marks 31 months since the attack on the U.S. Capitol that disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress in the process of affirming the presidential election results. The government continues to investigate losses that resulted from the breach of the Capitol, including damage to the Capitol building and grounds, both inside and outside the building. As of October 14, 2022, the approximate losses suffered as a result of the siege at the Capitol totaled $2,881,360.20. That amount reflects, among other things, damage to the Capitol building and grounds and certain costs borne by the U.S. Capitol Police.
Under the continued leadership of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and the FBI’s Washington Field Office, the investigation and prosecution of those responsible for the attack continues to move forward at an unprecedented speed and scale. The Department of Justice’s resolve to hold accountable those who committed crimes on January 6, 2021, has not, and will not, wane.
Based on the public court documents, below is a snapshot of the investigation as of the close of business Friday, August 4, 2023. Complete versions of most of the public court documents used to compile these statistics are available on the Capitol Breach Investigation Resource Page at https://www.justice.gov/usa...apitol-breach-cases.

Approximately 11 individuals have been arrested on a series of charges that relate to assaulting a member of the media, or destroying their equipment, on Jan. 6. Approximately 967 defendants have been charged with entering or remaining in a restricted federal building or grounds. Of those, 104 defendants have been charged with entering a restricted area with a dangerous or deadly weapon. Approximately 64 defendants have been charged with destruction of government property, and approximately 51 defendants have been charged with theft of government property. More than 310 defendants have been charged with corruptly obstructing, influencing, or impeding an official proceeding, or attempting to do so. Approximately 42 defendants have been charged with conspiracy, either: (a) conspiracy to obstruct a congressional proceeding, (b) conspiracy to obstruct law enforcement during a civil disorder, (c) conspiracy to injure an officer, or (d) some combination of the three.

Approximately 632 individuals have pleaded guilty to a variety of federal charges, many of whom faced or will face incarceration at sentencing. Approximately 198 have pleaded guilty to felonies. Another 434 have pleaded guilty to misdemeanors. A total of 86 of those who have pleaded guilty to felonies have pleaded to federal charges of assaulting law enforcement officers. Four of those who have pleaded guilty to felonies have pleaded guilty to the federal charge of seditious conspiracy.

Another 26 individuals have been convicted following an agreed-upon set of facts. 59 of these 136 defendants were found guilty of assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers and/or obstructing officers during a civil disorder, which are felony offenses, including one who has been sentenced to more than 14 years in prison.

PLUS THE TRUMP GANG INC THE RUMP HIMSELF NEW UP DATE ON 9-6-23 WILL INC THE RUMP GANG NOT IN THIS REPORT
I still think anyone who gave cash support to 1-6 events is a criminal as are those who claim repeatedly no laws were broken or harm to our government in efforts to handwave away this treason by the RWNJ faction

Wow, 22 years in the slammer for Enrique Tarrio. Might make him (and others) think twice how they'd behave as tourists next time around.

BUT Proud Boy recruits are up up up
Yeah, the NPR story this morning about continued growth of a decentralized Proud Boys organization even as their former leaders are sentenced to years in jail was chilling. A Gym Jordan or an Empty Gene might have an amusing nickname, but they also apparently have the will to call for vigilante action. And the vigilantes are out there - standing by, for now.
in other news the family of raccoons that live inside Trump’s head have finally chewed through all the wires

Of course they are. America was forged in the fires of rebellion against tyranny.
