Waiting to see that proof of a loan. No one I've ever known carried $200K in cash so, there's a record somewhere of this transaction. Biden needs to produce it.

I don't think this is going to "pan out" for the Republicans—at least, in terms of their discovering any actual illegalities.
When I read through the ZeroHedge report, I thought "Who else has a 'line' on this?" And within a millisecond, I knew where to look.
"Desperate Republicans Seek to Impeach President Biden Because—His Brother Repays Loans?" Mark NC for News Corpse; October 21, 2023. https://www.newscorpse.com/ncWP/?p=58712
This is the "meat" of the News Corpse report:
quote | Oh my! This would be catastrophic for President Biden were it not for the fact that Comer left out all of the facts that entirely undermine this alleged scandalette. In reality, Joe Biden had previously loaned James this money, and James was just paying it back. It actually says “loan repayment” on the memo line of the check. There is no evidence whatsoever of any link between the President and the company that had made a loan James. Nor is there any proof that the company benefited in any way resulting from the transaction.
What’s more, Joe Biden was a private citizen at the time. He held no office of influence, nor was he a candidate. But that didn’t stop the scandal mongers of the GOP from peddling flagrant lies about Biden and this nonexistent impropriety. They began with Comer himself, which led to a parade of perfidy…
Needless to say, there was no “direct” payment, no “money trail,” no “corruption scheme,” no “proof,” and no “smoking gun.” These were all deliberate distortions of reality intended to disseminate blatant disinformation and to defame President Biden.
What proof there was—the actual loan and repayment info—only served to exonerate Biden. But with the House closed for business, these dishonest propagandists felt compelled to do what they do best: lie their asses off to the eager right-wing media. And so it goes. |

I try to eschew the fallacy of hubris, so I am not saying that this, from News Corpse, is the last word.
I say, instead, "How will the exculpatory attitude of this News Corpse report hold up, as the remainder of the story unfolds?"

The plot thickens. This clearly spells out that James was influence peddling based on the Biden family name.
CAROL FOX, CHAPTER 11 TRUSTEE OF AMERICORE HEALTH, LLC Plaintiff, v. JAMES BIDEN, Defendant https://oversight.house.gov...-Court-Complaint.pdf
quote | By information and belief, Defendant procured the $600,000.00 in loans from Americore Health (the “Loans”) based upon representations that his last name, “Biden,” could “open doors” and that he could obtain a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections. 16. Debtors even provided Defendant with business cards reflecting his position as a “Principal” with Americore Health to assist his financing efforts. A redacted copy of the Defendant’s business card is attached as Exhibit B. As a result, Defendant became a fiduciary to Americore Health. 17. Instead, of complying with his fiduciary responsibilities, Defendant helped Debtors procure an ill-advised bridge loan from a hedge fund that had a deleterious impact on the financial affairs of the Debtor and ultimately forced Debtors into bankruptcy, as he never delivered the promised the large investment from the Middle East. 18. And worse, Defendant never repaid the Loans to Americore Health, including during the time that Debtors were strapped for cash. 19. Despite Trustee’s demand, Defendant has still failed and refused to return the Transfers to the Trustee. |

James stole the money from a hospital to pay his brother Joe.[This message has been edited by Doug85GT (edited 10-21-2023).]

This I agree with. The WH says it was a loan to the brother. The committee should be looking for proof of that loan or, did Joe just loan his name and title?
