Hunter Biden hit with 9 tax-related charges in new indictment.
https://www.aol.com/news/ch...ected-004207414.html
quote | Hunter Biden has been indicted on nine tax-related charges, including three felony counts, according to documents filed Thursday in a federal court in Los Angeles.
The 56-page filing laid out a series of charges, including allegations that the president’s son failed to pay taxes, failed to file, evaded an assessment and filed a fraudulent form. The indictment says that “rather than pay his taxes, the Defendant spent millions of dollars on an extravagant lifestyle.”
"Between 2016 and October 15, 2020, the Defendant spent this money on drugs, escorts and girlfriends, luxury hotels and rental properties, exotic cars, clothing, and other items of a personal nature, in short, everything but his taxes," the indictment says.
The charges, which include six misdemeanor tax offenses, were brought by special counsel David Weiss, a Trump appointee who previously served as U.S. attorney in Delaware and has been overseeing the federal investigation into Hunter Biden.
The maximum penalty the president's son could face if convicted is 17 years in prison, according to Weiss' office. |

There's a lot more to the article if one is interested in reading it. Some of the article describes what Hunter Biden did with his money other than pay the taxes he owed. Personally, I don't care what else he did with the money but I do care that it appears he got special treatment because of who he is.
I find this interesting. Special Counsel Weiss has had the evidence (maybe he's discovered more) for years according to every source I have found. Why now?
Maybe a distraction? Anyone else notice that any "Laptop" evidence isn't mentioned?
Anyone else doubt that if Hunter Biden is found guilty he'll ever serve any time in jail? I would expect any other member of this forum to serve time (if found guilty) except for a couple of potential big donors. Our President said previously that no pardon would be considered.............
No charges related to selling political influence (Foreign Agent Registration Act), no charges about lying to a firearms dealer or lying on the paperwork about Hunter using drugs at that time when purchasing the pistol. The fact that this case will not see the light of day until after the 2024 election makes it very suspect.
I'm thinking we've just been shown another shiny object to get our attention away from other important things. I would also remind viewers that Hunter Biden plead guilty to tax evasion charges when he had the "Sweetheart" deal that the judge threw out....................------------------ Rams Learning most of life's lessons the hard way. . I thought Biden controlled the FBI and we’d never see charges?
Or were Trump’s charges from Biden’s agents and these are from other freedom fighter agents?

It has been suggested that Hunter will now be able to invoke the 5th amendment in next week's deposition. How is that for timing?
I suspect that there is no love lost between Hunter and Joe. If backed into a corner, either one would throw the other to the wolves.[This message has been edited by williegoat (edited 12-09-2023).]

Hunter Biden is a total POS. But are the Republicans putting too much emphasis on Hunter? I don't think many voters will turn against Joe just because of Hunter's screw ups. People already new Hunter was trash before the last election.

Hunter would have to be a weak and foolish sap to do such a thing. In other words, Oh Hell Yeah.

There could be a lot of reasons why charges were filed. The one I like the most is because the "Sweetheart Deal" previously agreed to was caught by the judge and that embarrassed the Special Prosecutor Weiss to the point that he had to save face. True or not, I like the story.
But here's the rub, just cause some charges were filed doesn't mean Hunter will ever set foot into a jail cell whether he's found guilty or not of cheating on his taxes. He (Hunter) has a better chance of doing time for the gun charges in a different state. Sorry, can't remember which one.
