Since I've worked in the past with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, I know unequivocally that everyone (including the Office of the President / EOP) knew where he was, and what was going on. What likely happened, is the White House kept this under raps because they believed the Republicans would use it against them. Big shock, the Democrats made it worse than it would have otherwise been.

I was just taken with the name that they came up with for this: Operation Prosperity Guardian... I guess that seemed kind of "sci-fi" to my eyes and ears.

It's about what the U.S. Navy has been doing to try to discourage the Houthis from interfering with international commerce by targeting commercial vessels.

There's no reason to view it unless that particularly arouses your curiosity.

You can think of it as "Here's what the Pointy End of the Spear has been up to, while our Defense Secretary has been AWOL."

I wish they had done this sooner as it's definitely affected shipping, but I'm glad at least they're doing it now, so I won't criticize a good decision, even if it's late.

But also, the Government comes up with a lot of really dumb operational names.

Joe Biden does not even know where he is half the time. How could he possibly keep up with the Sec of Defense.
