Some things I've noticed in the media lately... (Page 1/3)

There seems to be a foregone conclusion that Trump will win the election. This seems like the likely scenario, but I'm not convinced.

Furthermore, it seems that the momentum has shifted so much towards Trump in the last two weeks that all the news seem to already be planning ahead in this way (because of the assassination attempt, and the universal acceptance that Biden is suffering from dementia).

We're even seeing major corporations start to shift their policies for what a NEW administration would look like. Microsoft just eliminated their entire DEI program, and if I'm not mistaken even John Deere. You have hundreds of major companies that have vowed to move out of California for other states, and this past week a dozen of them have now committed to doing it. This list is even just a month old: https://buildremote.co/comp...-leaving-california/

When you go to news aggregator sites, the headings have all seemed to shift to dealing with "what the new Trump presidency will look like." ... not "what it would look like." It's subtle... but these words matter. I hope people don't get complacent, and the 45 million that Elon Musk is putting in to ensure ballot harvesting and drop boxes are provided to Republican areas (in the same way the Democrats previously did for 2020) is a really good sign.

Furthermore, it's like because things have gotten so crazy on the left, people are coming out in droves in support of Trump and Republicans... whom had previously remained quiet for fear of reprisal.

It's crazy to me... but I've never seen such a foregone conclusion at this point. I just don't want to count all my chickens before they hatch, so to speak... but damn, things are really looking up.

Just enough is not going to be good enough.

It is going to have to be "Too Big to Rig!"

I was gauging a single (younger) woman if she was going to vote. "No" she said. It took me a few moments but I told her she should. Comparing not voting with having a husband she did not pick.

And another thing... young adults are overwhelmingly shifting towards Trump. They either (like you said Cliff) don't want to vote because they don't want the embarrassment of voting for Joe Biden, or they're voting for Trump... who seems to be cool now because they Democrats have tried to imprison him, spied on him, and even shot at him. It used to be that the Democrats always got the young person vote... but that seems to be changing now.

You know, I was thinking earlier today that if someone had written this whole Trump story as a screenplay, it would be rejected.
"Oh come on. That would never happen."

Trump was not shot at by the Democrats. That is extremely alarming disinformation to perpetuate.

I know how you feel. I would have put money on Biden all the way up until a couple of month ago and now that seems like the least plausible outcome. Given the dramatic shifts so far, though, I'm skeptical that it's all over. Next thing you know that short fella from Florida with the weird cowboy boots will be running a spoiler 3rd party campaign.

Hahah... of course I don't think the Democrat party shot at him. But I'm glad you tangentially agreed with the other two things.

I was being sneaky there, I apologize. I debated even putting that, but wanted to see what people would say.

So you just lied.

See what Trump has done to good decent people? Lying does not even matter any more.
