Promises not to do it again since Trump will now be in office...

“I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it,” reads the letter. “I also think we made some choices that, with the benefit of hindsight and new information, we wouldn’t make today.”
He’s also committed and “ready to push back if something like this happens again.”

Second page of the letter, which I find to be a nice touch:
"I want to address the contributions I made during the last presidential cycle to support electoral infrastructure ... they were designed to be non-partisan -- spread across urban, rural, and suburban communities. Still, despite the analysis I've seen showing otherwise, I know that some people believe this work benefitted one party over the other. My goal is to be neutral and not play a role one way or another -- or even appear to be playing a role. So I don't plan on making a similar contribution this cycle."
My personal opinion... Zuckerberg sees the writing on the wall... and despite all of this talk, I think it's preservationist behavior. He wants to show that he's putting himself on a neutral ground so he doesn't get destroyed by the new Congress that will come in next year.

Why would some people believe that, ?
He needs an analysis to know where he spent his money ?

Social media is a tricky fish to try and regulate.
Unlike a media source the people who run social media sites don't create the content. Instead, they just post things other people say. Buit social media has become very powerful. Teenagers are actually killing themselves because of the power bullying over social media. And the evidence of foreign powers using social media to disrupt/influence the election process in America.
I am not claiming to have all the answers on this one. You can't incite a riot with language in person, so you should not be able to do that online either. It is illegal to defraud a person with a lie, but it is not illegal to just tell a lie. Where do you draw the line? It is not easy.
And, of course, anytime you bring the words "national security" into a conversation you know we are talking about some serious "moderation of content". Thta is when it gets really scary.

Because some people still believe that the Hunter Biden laptop had some evidence of corruption committed by Joe Biden.

When did it become the governments job to regulate speech?

When children are exposed to inappropriate sexual/adult information.
When fraud/misinformation damages citizens.
When citizens are incited to riot or panic.
Who else is going to regulate it?

We have a free press per the Constitution.
We reserve the right to self-censor as citizens.
Children should not be exposed to **** , yet the Liberals insist it should be present in elementary school libraries.

Our press is not "free" to libel anyone. It is not "free" to defraud people with false advertising.
And although you may "self-censor" yourself that does not stop stores from selling pornography to children.
So just answer my question. Who does the regulating? It has to be the government doesn't it?
