Teamsters Declines to Endorse Any Candidate After Internal Polling Indicates Overwhelming Support for Trump
Washington Post: For the first time in nearly three decades, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters won’t endorse a candidate in the presidential race — a blow to the Democratic Party, and Kamala Harris, which has reliably received the union’s approval for years. The Teamsters confirmed the decision not to endorse Wednesday, as the union’s executive board met in Washington and voted on the endorsement. The non-endorsement comes two days after union leaders and members met privately with Vice President Kamala Harris and she laid out her case for an endorsement. Their member polling gave Donald Trump an overwhelming lead over Kamala Harris. Electronic Member Poll: Trump: 59.6% Harris: 34.0%.

Shows that the members are smarter than their elected officials.
The Democrat party has moved away from its traditional base.
Let's go Hollywood!

This really is an enormous blow.
When 60% of the union membership voted to support Trump, and only 35% voted to support Kamala... and the union leadership decides to endorse NO ONE... it clearly shows both leadership corruption, and a massive problem for the Democrats... which warms my heart.

Dude, look at their donation numbers! Damn near $100k in donations to Democrats, $0 to Republicans, when 60% of their dues-paying members support a Republican candidate...they aren't even pretending to be representative of their workers. Corruption seems a very appropriate word.[This message has been edited by NewDustin (edited 09-19-2024).]

Only thing I can figure is... well... politics is a religion for many people.. So, they feel obligated to support regardless. I'd be pretty upset knowing that ~60% of the union supports Trump, and they decide not to endorse anyone. I suppose it's what isn't being said that hurts the Democrats the most... but why should Republicans have to go above and beyond to get support? Why should the Democrats automatically have that baked in?
