They are saying one in six relationships break up over political party preference. They also said (I don't remember the ratio) different party preferences keep people from even getting married or just dating.
I have a question. If a republican man married a democrat woman, would they name their first born Bipartisan ?

Doubtful that would happen, the fetus would not likely survive.

I'm a "European mutt". My wife is Indian. a nurse once told us that than means our son is 'Spanish". That was the day my faith in the reliability of the medical system died. (well, probably well before that day, but still...)
My wife's vote and and my vote usually tend to cancel each other out. but we both are going to vote anyway, Because the whole world is stupid and/or dumb. Just like arguing about Politics or ANYTHING, really... It's DUMB, because NOTHING MATTERS!

Hmmm, interesting position..................
Without further explanation, I must disagree but it's your opinion and I guess you're welcome it.

My wife and I have wildly different takes on politics and religion, and it's never been a source of disharmony for us. Our kids survived the womb just fine

Well NewDustin, the womb is a "safe space".
See what I did there ?

Well, it used to be, before the LWNJ decided it's better to kill their offspring and import criminal illegal aliens to grow the population.

My wife is a Democrat (and Jewish), and I'm a Republican (and Catholic).
... all of that said, my wife isn't voting this year because she's really shocked at (quite honestly) just how insane the Democrat party has become. Respectfully, all nuance and everything else aside... we have massive inflation (which has affected her considerably since she pays for the groceries), illegal immigration is not only intentional from the Democrat party, but actively encouraged (which is overloading both public and private resources), and it seems that with all the things going on (war, dramatically increased crime in many areas), that the left seems to harp religiously on stuff that really is just not that important (like DEI, Trans stuff, etc.).
She's pro-abortion, for the most part, though she doesn't think it's right as the baby is into the third trimester. But on trans issues, for example. In my industry, I've run into a couple of trans people over the past 20+ years... and I supported them. They were all adults, and their decisions did not affect anyone. But the left has seemingly seized upon this and turned it into something just totally outlandish... to the point that nearly half the kids in my daughter's school are trans. It's at the point where some kids call themselves "something" just because they can claim a victim status, which gives them a type of street cred, if you will. It's shunning to be considered just a normal successful kid. Plus the whole trans-sports stuff... my wife still calls herself a Democrat (though she's now registered "No Party Affiliation"), but she's so taken-back, and completely confused on why the party has basically gone completely insane.
But politics has never been an issue for us. There's a lot of things where we are opposite. When we order chicken wings, she hates the drum-sticks, and she likes the wings. I think the wings are gross... so it just works out. Our whole lives are like that, honestly. And, with her being Jewish and me being Catholic... the whole first 2/3rds of the Bible is the Jewish Torah, so it's my religion as well. My daughter goes with me to Catholic mass every ... ok, almost every Sunday... sometimes we skip a week... and my wife doesn't mind, and my daughter does both the Jewish holidays and the Christian holidays, which to her ends up meaning she gets twice as many fancy dinners, and twice the number of presents.
Mixed relationships (even culturally) are not for everyone... but the one thing we have is communication. Although many people on the left here will disagree, I'm really easy to talk to, and I am largely not judgemental unless you're just totally bat-**** crazy... in which case... you do you, just don't get your crazy on me. At least as far as I'm concerned... communication is key to any relationship. It's OK to have different opinions.

My Wife and I are opposite in more than '"a lot of things". We have communication, as well as honesty, including being open about who we are. Much to the chagrin of Julia Roberts and George Cloony who encourage spouses to lie to each other.
Julia Roberts :
George Cloony :
My Wife saw an interview where one man said If his wife lies to him (about anything) it would be over for him. I happened to see the same clip. When I got home, she asked me if I would leave her if she lied to me. I told her no, I lie to you. She knew I was joking.
