Hi all, a few months ago I accidentally banged my driver's door glass into a pole in my garage, which did not break the glass, but busted something inside the track that holds the glass. It caused the glass to move around freely inside the door, which makes it difficult to close the door, for fear of shattering the glass while closing it in the wrong position.
Today I totally removed the inner and outer door skins to find the problem. Turns out that the part of the window guide that fits into the vertical track should have some sort of wheel/washer around it but does not, which is what must have busted. My question is this: what is this part, where can I find it, and how is it installed?

You're correct, it is a roller however when I tried to source the part number from the P22 (parts manual) the roller isn't listed as a separate part. You may be out of luck and might need to find a used lower assembly. For what it's worth, that metal guide that it's attached to is called a Window Glass Regulator Cam (GM part number 20364929) for driver's side.

What constitutes the lower assembly exactly, is it basically the metal bracket that the glass is attached to? Lots of rivet work here, sounds like. ------------------

The part is number 78 in the diagram below.
There are two rivets to drill out but it's easy once you've gotten the inner and/or outer door skins off. Most people replace the rivets with 1/4" dia bolts. It would be a good time to replace your door glass if it's scratched from dirty felt stabilizers. The glass isn't that expensive... just be certain to replace the dew wipes too since the felts are part of the dew wipe and if they're worn out, they'll scratch your new glass as well.

Great info, thanks. I have new dew wipes and felt guides on order, and still have the door skins off so this sounds doable. Can new door glass be obtained? Or is this something to get used? ------------------

Dorman.com make (made in past?) roller "kits" that might work.
You carefully drill out old and instal new roller and "axle."------------------

So, I am still trying to source the window cam assembly, but I read in an archived topic that the plastic rollers themselves can be snapped onto the stud? Ogre, were you able to successfully get one on? I found the Dorman 74430 window rollers, so if I can just pop one off of the studs they come with in the package and snap it onto my existing stud, that would be awesome.
I noticed there are 3 rollers in the package and one is different, it spins freely and twists a bit while the others are stiff. Which one is the one to use?------------------

Here are the three rollers. I was able to pop all of them off the studs, and it was easy to pop them back on.
