RockAuto lists the same pump for both the 86 and 88 models....but this is without a pulley....ITM 285000
|

So what is the piece that the water pump bolts to called ? That piece bolts to the block.

I checked the parts manual and the pump and the Water Pump Internal Housing are a single unit in there. However it seems like its the same PN all years just different pully. I would have expected on 87-88 the pump mounting to have changed there fore changing that rear housing unit.

You got a cross reference for that? I show 10159526 Delco 251-446
Edit: Not that i don't believe you just wondering how you found it so i can find things better
