So now we know that there are about 5 bulb numbers that all have the same right angle socket..
And some have the tip painted black, and others dunt..
But with LEDs, you will not have the same wattage levels to compare, so it is plug and see..
So I placed an order from Aliexpress for..
Link to Aliexpress LED bulb
I chose red LED, 881 type, not white. When it comes, I will come back on this thread and give some feedback..

Fixed your Link (too long, cut at .html .htm for many sites. )

Black top bulbs are for fog and LB HL

Page says "Lumens: 1156 BA15S 1157 BAY15D 9006 881"
Is sad... they are socket/plug formats

Red should work...
If lumens listed farther down, 700lm, is correct.... allot more then OE at 540lm but several way to dim a bit if needed.

Hey thanks everyone for the info. Always appreciated. I know that the current bulb is an 889 because i replaced it myself a couple years ago. I remember being shocked that it's a halogen bulb, and not every chain autoparts store carried it. As soon as LED that I bought arrives, I'll let you know how well it works.

This one works just fine. I have them in my two Fieros.

Thanks TopNotch..that's similar to what I purchased. In fact, it might be the same thing...I'll have to check.

The LED works perfectly! See Top Notch's comment for the ebay link...i actually got mine off of amazon, but it's the same bulb. Very bright, lights the entire housing. If you decide to replace the halogen bulb with an LED, make sure the LED lights red. Thanks everyone!

What number and vendor?
bought from Amazon means little or nothing.

I'm new to the forum since I just bought an '88 GT in June. I just changed all the exterior lighting (and some interior so far) to LEDs, and realized that I'd overlooked the third brake light. So I just ordered this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/p...01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

for it. Amazon says it will not fit the Fiero but they say a lot of stuff that does doesn't. Taking a while to get here since it's being mailed from China. I'll post pictures after it arrives.

All the links are dead people...
Plus nobody followed up with pictures.

Posting a brand name and part number instead would have been helpful.

Danyel has a good 3rd LED light solution. Check his stuff out.

I can’t believe that it’s been four years since I put that bulb in. I just checked my Amazon history and confirmed that the bulb is no longer available from the vendor I purchased from. The brand was “Car” and it was described as compatible with bulb numbers 886 or 881, red 5 LED rear, daytime running light, or fog light. It was $7.93 and is still working well today.

What did not work well for me was the cheap LED bulbs that I used for the tail lamps and indicators (front and rear). There wasn’t enough differentiation between tail light and brake light output. Unless you were watching, you wouldn’t know if I had stepped on the brake. The change in brightness was almost unnoticeable.

Also, because of the way LED bulbs work, and the way the power source to the side markers switches direction. The front side markers would not blink when the headlights were on. Ultimately it was a fun experiment switching all of the bulbs to LED. But I ended up returning them all (Except for the 3rd brake lamp) to incandescents. Was a safety issue, in my opinion.
