Then keep the car in a garage and the badge covered at all times... and still be mad when it yellows and the surface starts to look like pumpkin skin in two years. So far the two that I have down here in sunny FL look like that. Same thing happens with the "GT" emblem on the back of the car.

Maybe there is some sort of uv spray to protect it. Maybe they aren't made of good UV resistant plastic.

This was put on the car in 2009 when I painted the car. You can decide what the issue is with the product.

Like I said yellow and looks like a pumpkin skin, and for the record I am in the market for something better to replace theem.

Just curious do you you use any products on your car or just auto car washes / etc.

Patrick, the nose emblem on the Formula is the same as the SE models.

I've seen many on e-bay (GM originals) for about 40$ but the stick on type.

If you need the backing plate, TFS has that but with the emblem included.

At 25$ USD, I don't think its that bad, but I heard the emblem hazes out after time.

I never bought one from TFS so I can't really confirm.

They do very quickly. It looks perfect when you get them, when you install them one of the prongs that go through the bumper is on the opposite side of OEM so you have to drill a new hole.

I bought one and within 4 months it was very hazy.
It works but if you plan on going to a carshow and showing off your car, you better buy an extra. As you stated tho, for $25 it's not bad...

Good to know. I do not plan on drilling my bumper to accommodate the different hole pattern, and I will get an extra one of these next time I order. Too bad they fade out so quickly.

Nothing special on the car, just turtle wax. I will be honest and say probably not as often as I should. But this car was in a garage from June 09 until April 10 and again from August 2010 until April 2012. While i was deployed. The car was yet again garaged from Jan 2014 untill June 2015. The badge was toast long before 2014. Over all they are great for a few months and no more. NOS is the way to go, if not something else. And if you find something else let me know.

Can confirm this is still happening in 2023. The included plastic nut looks very sketch. Will be installing it on the car soon, but I'll be cutting the top post on the badge off. I will not drill into my bumper.

There was a discussion about this before and I believe that there were different configurations depending on year of the car. I've actually had a few OEM backings and the pins were opposite on a couple.
