As the door striker wears down, the latch itself is also wearing down a bit. So even a new OEM striker will be a loose fit. A slightly larger striker takes up the slack. Akheron AUG 20, 08:53 PM Well, the Ford striker did the trick. No rattle whatsoever when I hit a bump. I guess my hesitance to think this would fix it was due to the fact that I had already changed the striker with a brand new one from the Fiero Store. It didn't even occur to me that the latch mechanism would be worn too, and that the Ford striker was a larger diameter than the Fiero Store striker. No that there is no rattle, the car is so much more fun to drive because I no longer anticipate the rattle when I hit a bump. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
