I was going to do that but I had a hard time trying to do it from the top due to a bad hand of mine from an injury.
I’m using the original heat shield, just had to fab a small metal bar to offset the mounting.
I think it should work out well and is far (so to speak) from the manifold. But still in the same place as the OEM in regards to the manifold. Also has plenty of room on the inside.
Also the new alternator discharges on the opposite side from the old so little if any restriction there.
