Have you seen them marked as Made in China? If they are, they haven't made it here to the backwards old Midwest yet. I check each box before I buy.

I did notice new ones with a new box and logo design; real ugly in my opinion. The old logo was fine; why change it?

Alright_ was looking the two I had bought to fit my Fiero and my van- both in very cheap looking boxes, and the filters look cheap also- the paint on them is not very high quality. The boxes have chinese writing on them as well as english and spanish....

After carefully looking them over I finally spotted some lettering on the bottom of the filters- very hard to see- and it says "Made in USA"....If these were made here, that factory must be paying their workers in pennies rather than dollars!

I want to clarify something about the filter I was trying to remove- It was not >>Extremely<< tight...It was what I would normally tighten a filter to- and I have NEVER had any problem with removing a filter- and I always oil the seal before installation. The filter can just started collapsing when I tried to remove it- I can actually indent the sides with my fingers.

I am taking the two new ACDelco filters back and trading them for more of the Mobil 1 filters.

Also, I had a couple of those "Cup" filter wrenches- one was the wrong number of flutes- but the other one fit the new filter (Basically) but when I attempted to use it on the filter on the car, it kept slipping.

Uhh Mobil1 still made by Champion Laboratories Just like AC Delco. Pretty sure everyone recommended WIX pretty sure you would just be exchanging a blue painted filter for a black painted filter of the exact same quality.

+2 That is the ugly box I was mentioning. I liked the old box better!

"Made in USA"...Maybe all they do is glue the seal on and box it in USA.....

The Mobil 1 filter looks different than other filters- but I will go look at the Wix filters (I have heard good things always about Wix)

Kind of strange; I have a 15-flute "Socket" that seems to NOT fit the ACdelco (Fiero V6) filter....and the Mobil 1 filter (That fits the Fiero V6) has 14 flutes...I woulda thought that they would have a standardized flute-shape for which cars the filter is going on....but that would make too much sense....
