Once I had the dash apart - dash and temp sensor swapped. They're just pins - slide a thin rigid piece in to dislodge the "lock" - the wires just pop right out. Make sure the lock nub didn't completely compress (bend it back out if it did) and slide them into the correct positions.
I might be exaggerating the five minutes, but it still didn't take long. I did it on a lunch break.
weird thing is - of all of the things I've done with this car, this is the one thing that I get the biggest kick out of. Every time I turn the key, the light comes on, and the needle just does what it's supposed to do.
