Another sign whether or not power is still getting to the headlight motor is that the knob will be warm to the touch.

Just unplug both connectors to the Gen1 motors. Just follow wires from the motors to find them a few inches away. Maybe hidden by relays etc. but are there.

If the motors don't have 2 connectors, then someone did something w/ the Gen1 system. Disconnect all Three relays. 1 on each HL lift, and 3rd on "tire wall" I forget just where. (Relay in front of left lift is rad fan relay. Leave that alone.)

If the HL Switch is warm to hot for any reason... you have more problems then just Gen1 Motor(s) are bad.

HL and Beam select switches can have problems or them cooking can be a symptom of other problems.
Common example: Many put "Brighter" Halogen HL bulbs and cook the switches etc because draws a lot more power. Worse if installed Illegal Halogens pulling > 70 watts.
