Some random thoughts about headlights (Page 2/2)

Hi I am the current developer referenced by the Orge of the replacement headlight controller. My controller will work with any linear actuator or dc motor as long as it has a acceptable peak stall rating.

I would definitely be interested in helping you develop a headlight that would use the 7 inch round sealed beam that looks so good on the Ferarri. If thats your goal? Let me know!

I have learned to accept orge's spite, because at the end of the day, the dude does indeed know his stuff , and is one of the most valuable members of the forum

That would be awesome! I'm a long ways away from that point of the project but I'll keep in touch. (Having said that- I have stripped the '87 of all its panels, so some progress has already happened)

I get it. I'm the same way in the vintage VW scene... mostly because I basically fix other people's screw-ups for a living.

Wrong.
I hate Bad Mods that are Illegal &or Dangerous to anyone that rides w/ owners of that Crap & others on the road.
I also hate Hype Mods even more. Example: "Brake Upgrades" sold by TFS to take $ from people that have No Clue. 99+% of "LED Upgrades" sold everywhere now.

For years I've seen many cars that end as Scrape, wrecked or not, because of Crap Mod & can't drive or sell them later. Or sell to first sucker w/ cash then buyer finds they can't drive w/o big problems like a few posted here had to remove "brake upgrades" costing a lot of $.

Original Equipment Manufacturer versus Upgrade or Modify

I know that MANY PFF members are more likely to modify their vehicles.

However, I Agree with Ogre's View:
If the OEM part(s) is/are performing properly, it’s probably best to just leave it alone and not make any "Illegal and/or Dangerous" changes.
