I bet they're about a hundred times more available than the Getrag 282 5-speeds. According to the Google I can have my choice from dozens of them either delivered to my door or for pickup nearby.

Great information from everyone ! It's understood that a manual is more fun and clutches appear to be readily available. I'm curious to know if the Fiero TH-125c automatic transmission is reliable if it has not been abused. Also, are most A/C components still available such as the condenser, compressor, etc. ? Lastly, do all Fiero GTs have timing chains ? Again, thanks to everyone !

All Fiero 2.8 V6 engines have timing chains.

Thanks for the information. Is the TH-125 transmission reliable? Also, are A/C components such as the condenser/compressor, etc. readily available? Thanks to everyone for their imput.

It is a pretty reliable transmission if it's not been abused and has been serviced regularly. The usual failure is the TCC lockup switch that causes the torque converter to lock into overdrive. When that happens, it's like driving a manual transmission without a clutch. It will choke down when you stop and when restarting in park or neutral, pulling it into gear is like slipping your foot off the clutch pedal and it kills the engine. The TCC switch is readily available and with a modicum of mechanical ability, easily replaced.

Thanks for the information. Any idea where I might be able to purchase the TC-125 automatic transmission lockup switch? Is the switch and solenoid the same thing? Also, are the A/C components such as the condenser and compressor readily available ? Thanks everyone for your time.
