I have a module from a Firebird that had a blown engine. The headlights would power up and raise and lower. The module would plug into the Fiero, but wouldn't work. Seems the earlier year Firebird modules are the same but later years aren't because I pulled others in the parts yard and they work. [This message has been edited by fierofool (edited 08-19-2024).]

i'm hesitant to buy a Corvette module because the original thread I referenced, 4th post down from Dodgerunner said some people were having problems getting it to work with their fiero, until they bought a "fiero specific" module. |

I purchased it from Zip Corvette Parts and Accessories on the web. The current price is $159.99. I installed it Saturday afternoon and it works perfectly.

Most excellent! Glad it worked out for you.
I kept my old one with the intent to open it up and replace the blown component. I have a friend that does electronics work and he is a whiz at soldering and de-soldering.

The Corvette module is exactly the same as the Fiero module - as is the Firebird module and also the Sunbird.
AND, just to correct you, NO, these do not work the the "1986 Fiero motors" - they have to be the 2nd gen motors.
Edit: see you got one.[This message has been edited by Mickey_Moose (edited 09-04-2024).]

Just a word of warning: I bought a module off of eBay myself that was advertised as being the Corvette module. It wasn't. Even though the sticker on it said it was. When I opened it up, it looked completely different.
And a second word of warning, some are "refurbished" by replacing defective MOSFETs. Problem is that those MOSFETs are cheap Chinese MOSFETs. And the problem with those are that they are, more often than not, fake. They are cheap rebranded MOSFETs. So they'll work in the beggining but will fail after only a few uses.
