You actually CAN remove the delaminated black portion but it's a real time consuming thing. I did a set with custom lettering after removing the black portion. I used my vinyl cutter to replicate the letters for masking:

appreciate that man, but yea removing the laminate from the inside of the lens does not leave any room for profit on just a restoration. For a custom job for $$$$, for sure.

And just FYI, now that the Keith Goodyear lenses have reached the end of production and are no longer available, there will be even more need for refinishing services since there really is no other option. As long as you have the time, I'm sure you'll have a good side business doing these.

I know someone with a few. trying to get a good set of both notchie and gt licenses (not reproductions) to make molds off of and then its finding out what resin they used for Keith's lenses (or more accurately what I can get my hands on and use in a non factory setting)

No, you started this thread by saying:

It was mentioned to me that there was once someone in the Fiero community that offered refinishing on the reproduction blemished tail light lense

My response was that 'this someone' is gtoformula

BTW - SERVICE Threads are posted in 'The Mall' - Not in the Technical Discussion & Questions section
