I've had EZ Outs work on other broken bolts such as in an engine block.

Glad you were able to get it extracted. When a steel bolt is stuck in aluminum, don't be afraid of cranking the welder up. The heat gives you good attachment to the end of the bolt as well as heat transfer to the bolt inside the hole which helps break the bond that has the bolt stuck.
