Unfortunately, coyotes adapt very well to life in the city. In some neighborhoods here (usually ones next to a ravine and/or wooded park), everyone's outdoor cat eventually disappears.

Canadian, eh? No moose around Vancouver though. Would be much much more likely to come across a bear here. |

When I was on business visiting RMC in Kingston, I had to do a drive from Ontario and back... and I accidentally hit a Canadian goose. We were on the highway, and it just flew perpendicular right out of the woods directly in front of my car. There was literally nothing I could have done to stop it. He flew out for a split second and hit my car, and then rolled over the top of it. Going fairly close behind me was one of those older flat-faced SEMI trucks (like Optimus Prime from Transformers)... and the goose slammed right smack in the center of the grill, and all I saw were feathers going in all directions. It dropped quickly and rolled under the truck as it kept driving.
I was like, damn... that really sucked... but there was genuinely nothing I could do.
