I believe the last time I removed the upper intake, I used a 12 point, 10mm socket.

The O/P is speaking of the four studs that are at the corners of the lower intake manifold.
A small 6 point socket will grab the splined tip of the stud and allow you to remove them.

It would really be helpful if people could at least mention what engine they're referring to!

Meh. It's got to be the 4 banger.

It was obvious to me he was talking about a 60° V-6......

My point was... as I'm sure you understand... is that we shouldn't need to be guessing (whether it's an educated one or not) what year Fiero and what engine is being referred to by the originator of any "help" thread. It's a time/effort waster for everyone and it only serves to further muddy the waters when the assumptions are wrong.

it's a 1987 2.8 v6 fiero gt that has about 20 thousand miles on it. i dont know if i should just leave the intake manifold gaskets alone, it's been in storage back in 95, just thought maby the gaskets are dryed up? i'll post some pictures on here later. an they are the four studs on the lower intake manifole
