Need new wheels for an 88 formula...any suggestions? (Page 1/3)

I'm trying to find new wheels for an 88 Formula but every time I find a set that I like I run into the problem of them not having the right offset.
I've spent a lot of time looking but haven't accomplished anything.
Can anyone suggest an inexpensive set of wheels that has the proper offset?
I would like to stay around 15"-16" if possible but I'm not deadset on diameter at this point so I'm open to suggestions.

Try "Tirerack.com". Click on wheels. It'll ask for make, model, and year. It also has a spot where it'll bring up a picture of a Fiero with the wheels you chosen. Scroll through all the wheels since they are not in any certain order

I've tried that site and have the same issue.....
It pulls wheels up that are "suppose" to fit the car but the offset is the same for front and back...no options of different offset for the same wheel.
This is an 88 so the offset in the front needs to be different than the offset for the back to keep the wheels in line with each other.

Where is this coming from?

4-cylinder 88 Fieros had the same wheels all around.

V6 88 Fieros only had a 7 mm offset difference between front and rear, which is not a whole lot.

I have a 85 SE V6 that has been converted to 88 rear subframe/suspension....I have VOXX Monza wheels in 16 x 7/38mm offset....They are very good wheels...Looks/weight(13.5)/quality...Bad news is they aren't made any more...But they do show up sometimes on Craiglist/Ebay.

You are generally not going to find a wheel that does it all exactly for the 88; What you can do is go for approx' 40mm offset/7" width, and then use some aluminum spacers for the rear- they only add a few ounces and don't really create any problems on the rear.

I did stagger the tires a bit more too; 205/55 front and 225/55 rear. You can see a pic of mine if you search for "I actually got quite a few compliments on my Fiero" on Pennocks.

88 V6's also have a narrower rim on front, too. 15 x 6 x 37mm. Try sources for American Racing Estrella series wheels. They are made in a wide variety of widths, offsets, and diameters. They've been around for a long time. Very popular. You might want to go to a 17" due to limited 15" tire availability.

www.americanracing.com wheel #AR956711 16 x 7 x 35 should work on both ends.

Go to eBay, search for 5x100 mm wheels and open several windows so you can specify wheel diameter, offset and width in the various screens. Bounce back and forth until you find the same wheel in 2 screens. Or find a wheel you like the look of and search for it in ebay with the 5x100 pattern and look through the results to see the sizes they come in.

For most people, you want to stay 7" or less width with offset about 42-45 mm in the front. The rears you can go with 8" and 35mm offset.

AFAIK, ALL Formulas had the 2.8.

Incorrect. 88 base 14" stock wheels are different front to rear due to the wider hub face on the front just like the V6 models.

This is news to me. I have not read or heard about Fiero 14" wheels with 2 different offsets. It sure would look funny if you accidentally swapped the wheels front to back...
