Aftermarket Gauges for Tachometer and Water Temperature Help. (Page 1/1)

Hello All,

I'm an idiot who has ripped out the stock Fiero dash and replaced it with a Dodge Stealth dash on my daily driver. I had read tutorials on this forum years ago describing how to complete this swap, but finally just started the swap myself and can't find the specifics now. Anyways, I very much miss my tachometer, especially for down shifting. The Stealth tachometer is not directly compatible. Ryan Hess was making conversion circuit boards way back when for this swap, does anyone know how to get a hold of him? He can have my firstborn in exchange for a board. I tried sending him a pm, but got no response.

Alternately, I have found a 2" gauge for a tachometer that would fit nicely into the Stealth dash. The listing says it's compatible with a 1987 2.8L Fiero, but not with any other years or engines. This made no sense to me so I messaged the seller and they were unable to provide any useful information in response. Could someone smarter than me please read the listing and tell me if they know how much work would be involved in getting the gauges wired up to work with the Fiero? I have no problem connecting the stock Fiero wiring to the aftermarket gauges, but will the gauges require aftermarket sensors(etc) for the tachometer and water temperature?

Thank-you so much,

Well shucks, I think that the only thing that you must have is the ability to select 4/6/8 cylinder. Most tach signals are square waves, and they are fairly universal.
