17x7.5 wheel fitment on 1986 gt stock suspension (Page 1/1) Mct2green AUG 06, 11:07 AM There are tons of posts on this issue, but I am hoping for someone with verified info to help me out. Will 17x7.5 40mm offset wheels fit a 1986 gt without rubbing the strut (stock suspension)? It looks like it would be very close per the fitment chart on the forum. 7" width would be better, but not available in the wheel I want. I am also looking at 18x8 35mm offset, should fit fine as the rim diameter will be over the base of the strut. I really like the 17x7.5 40mm but dont want to order and have them not fit. I have that and my wheels are just about flush with the body lines. I can not speak on clearance because I have coilovers are the way around.
