Is there anything inside the ground effects running below the door on an '88 GT? (Page 1/2)

Good afternoon, All

Another day, another odd question.

The title pretty well spells it out.

What I want to know is can I just 'fish" wires or hydraulic lines through the ground effects running below the door or must I remove them and drill holes and add grommets through some kind of internal bulkheads to accomplish the task?

Sure would make things faster, easier, and cheaper if the ground effects are really just an empty tube to use for a cable race!

TIA,

Larry

There is some sheet-metal reinforcement inside the rocket panels, but it's hollow in the middle. So you can use it as a conduit.

Blacktree,

Thank you very much!

Ground effects are a perfect conduit. I ran both power steering hoses thru the drivers side without removing them. 86 SE.

I know a guy who ran his intercooler water lines inside the ground effects.

Spoon,

Just where did you drill to make entry and exit from the ground effects?

TIA,

Larry

Here's the entry point. The exit is at and behind the front wheel liner. leads right to the connectors on the rack. Can't find pic.
