Cracked a-pillar body panel (Page 1/1)

So, I've got cracks at the top of my a-pillar where it transitions to the roof (see image). I think it's pretty repairable, but I was wondering if this is a common thing on Fieros? What would cause that? Does it mean my (new to me) Fiero was in an accident at some point?

Just wondering if the (many) awesome Fiero people here had any insights as to what could cause it, and how to repair it (I was thinking fiberglass repair resin and the cloth stuff). I'm new to the project car scene, so be gentle. :-)

I have only seen that happen from an attempt to remove the roof panel, since there is adhesive used on the underside.
It looks like your roof has been repainted too, it could be cracks in the paint, and not the material, I would sand it and see what it looks like...

I'm fairly sure that the crack is all the way through, so I'm betting he pulled the panels off to (badly) paint the roof and broke it. I saw the same thing happen on Ronald Finger's channel.

Note that I'm horrible at body work, so take my words with a 50# bag of salt.

Were it me, I'd get a pointed burr on the Dremel, and make a nice V-shaped channel across the crack. Trying to fill that narrow a crack in situ will just crack again as you'll only be adhering to the top bit.

Use filler for SMC (as that's what the panel is), and sand-putty-sand-glaze-lather-rinse-repeat.
