Hello all. Its been a long long time since I put my Fiero in moth balls due to a rear main seal leak. It all started when i decided i would rebuild my 87 2.5l iron duke. It was blowing smoke so i decided to rebuild the head.. After that it still puked blue smoke so i figured rings. I pulled the engine and rebuilt it then put it back in.. I then had a constant front and rear seal leak.... and it still smoked... (molly rings never seated) a fellow Fiero club member was selling an 88 2.5l that had been rebuilt only 15k prior but had been in storage so i picked that up. I swapped it in to find that I should have replaced all of the gaskets... I replaced the front seal and timing seal and lifter cover seal and valve cover gasket. Unfortunately i did not replace the rear main before I swapped it in. Turns out I also had a leak in the rear so i redid the pan gasket 3 times. I gave up and moved my Fiero into storage because I had other things going on and could not do another transmission pull.
Well I finally got around to pulling the trans and replacing the rear main.. I put it back together and i still have a leak . Im not sure if its the pan this time or if i pushed the rear main seal in too far or whats going on. thought i would ask around for some advice.. I have attached a photo of the oil on the flywheel after running for 5 min. the spatter is right at the pan seam but it could be dripping down from the main.

Ok I dropped the pan and found a section at the rear that was missing sealant ... I redid everything and this time so far no leaks.
