Not running...kind of (Page 1/1)

So i took my 86 Fiero GT apart for a while and finally got around to finishing the valve cover gaskets on it, did all the other gaskets on the way back up. Before I stripped it down, it ran and drove, only on 5 cylinders, but still worked. Now when I start it, it just sputters and dies, If i unplug the throttle position sensor, it runs, idles at around 1800, put it into drive and it dies. I've replaced the Tps, Ignition coil pack and module. All the fuses are good in it, I don't know what else it could be and would really appreciate some help trouble shooting this.

Okay, I'll chime in with my answer to everything tonight. Since you took things apart perhaps you forgot to hook up the MAP sensor vacuum line again. It is under the sensor where it is out of sight so an easy fix and worth checking in case it's the culprit.

A Colorado man no less, welcome to Fieros and the forum!!!

Maybe took things apart wasnt the right phrasing, I just took the engine down to where I could get to the valve cover gaskets and replace those seals. I didn't touch the map sensor and it was still hooked up, sorry for the late reply.
